Fair enough, the album may be a bit overlong and the Beastly Boys' slightly nasal New York shouty rap is difficult to take in long doses but don't worry, they are prepared to mix it up; instrumental pieces, massive shifts in tempo and sound, as well as guest rappers, all but cover up any reservations. If there's any other album that can move through such an accomplished and varied selection of styles in quick succession like the quadruple-whammy of Root Down - Sobotage - Get it Together - Sobrosa, then I have yet to hear it.

There are three dominant styles on this album; their endless rhymes-galore quick fire rap, their skater metal punk noise and their lounge lizard chill out jazzy stuff. And various combinations thereof and some other stuff. It's full of variety and invention and was surely their finest hour, literally mate. In a 60 minute album there are always going to be some fillers and that's the case here but more than a few really fine tracks make this a standout album.

Probably didn't give this album the attention it deserved, at the volume it deserved. Maybe it's a little too long, and should be treated as two albums. No doubt there's some defining moments in music history, but I struggled to really make much of the rest of it.

Talented, but far from my taste

More musically informed than their more youthful albums, but they still struggle not to sound like bratty white American kids.
