Full Lotus

One of those albums that's just trying to be too clever for its own good, it ends up stuttery and disjointed, hard to relax to. There are also too many tracks and it becomes repetitive. Two tracks just about save the day, 11 and 12.

A sprawling and confusing album, he has probably taken lots of drugs or something, maybe of the DMT substance he writes about.

Tiny Tortures

It reminded me of the stuttery, deconstructured approach that James Blake used on his album but there is very different sound going on below the fractured veneer. To be honest these are things that by and large aren't my bag - Jazz, R'n'B soulfulness, Drum'n'Bass. There is some good musicianship going on below decks, I quite enjoy the adventurous rambling bass lines and various elements and sounds worked well but overall there probably isn't one piece which I could say I've particularly enjoyed. And a few of the songs are almost unlistenable and I presume designed specifically to aggravate me, this is probably largely on the second half of the album. I don't want to write it off completely because it is impressive and different and has a sound but I can't say I'm feelin it.
