I don't know about art but I know what I like

I Ain't Nuthin' But a Gorehound, particularly, really captures the essence of the Cramps at their best, I think. “I been to the mountain and it's just a big hill / I guess I'm nuthin but a gorehound born to thrill”. This isn't a band with an outlook that necessarily closely matches everyday life for most people but they do distill their approach into something quite individual and quite enticing. On reflection, this may not be their strongest work but it has some great moments that convey a band operating without fear in their own realm. There's a great twangy guitar sound, vocals delivered with conviction and lyrics that are good quality, over the top, retro-horror B-movie classics. If you ever need to find some lines of well crafted smutty inuendo they should always be the first place to look. “You got good taste.”

Oof Oof Woof

They headlined at Reading1992 but I was too busy recovering from Mega City Four to watch them. This is Psychobilly - another genre ticked off the Loppy list. Good fun, short and sweet, enjoyable to listen to, but probably not enough to make me investigate them any further.

B-movie trash from the crypt etc

They created their own style that has influenced artists across all disciplines. Fast and furious live album, they have a singular vision with no faff or musical fat. Not totally to my taste but I respect their aesthetic.
