Superier ambient. not sure of the ration of Budd to Eno on this album. But this is often my 'go to' cd if I want some music on while dropping off to sleep, hence I rarely get beyond track 4. Music can fulfill different functions and this is mood music par excellence,

I’ve got a lot of albums by these fellas, so I can’t pretend to be an impartial observer on this. I think this is right up there as the very best of these type of things: ethereal, very low-key, ambient atmospheres. It really is pitched very much at a background level, which I can see that might be a problem – to get hold of something even when you are listening intently to review it is difficult, it does feel an elusive thing to focus on. None-the-less it is an extremely lovely and relaxing sound to have wash around the space you are in.
It does largely feel much more of a Harry album than a Brian one but you know Mr Eno's in the background coaxing the best out of it and adding subtle but key touches to the sound. A bit of high water mark for this sort of sound I would say.

There's nothing offensive or irritating about this, but it's just not that good. Considering this is a collaboration of three so called ambient masters, I would expect there to be so much more. I understand that ambient is supposed to be - well - ambient, but you still need some detail or varying atmospheres to get hold of and bite into. After the first three tracks, this has no variation at all. It could be any cheap bargain bin meditation album made by some geezer with a keyboard.
